About Us - Our Business

Smiling Doug Hi!
I'm Doug and I'm the boss of Kakadu Dried Fruits - therefore I get to do most things from scrubbing the floors to delivering our healthy and nutritious products.

The main thrust of our business is in three directions:-
1. Supplying school canteens and other like organisations
2. Filling local, interstate and overseas internet and phone orders
3. Selling our products at the local markets and craft fairs around the Darwin area

We've managed to build up quite a reputation over the years for quality at a fair price, reliability is another trademark of our business. I consider all these attributes to be an essential part of any business.

Our goal in the coming years is to further our range of fruit products to include some non tropical fruit (but ALWAYS Aussie grown fruit!) such as apple and plum, thus ensuring plenty of nutritional variety into our products. For the present time I will continue to provide a range of tropical fruits in various forms, at a competitive price, coupled with a prompt and courteous service.

Icecream display For those customers of ours who visit us at the local markets and trade fairs around Darwin, we have now introduced a line of home made tropical fruit icecream and Sorbet's, once again, the fruit used in these products is REAL fruit and all locally grown. Since introducing this line at the beginning of this season, we have had nothing but positive feedback from our customers.

Please don't hesitate to call me or e-mail me, anytime.
Kind regards
Doug

About Us - Our Factory

Colleen Colleen, hard at work drying Red Dragonfruit on the factory floor.
Due to our aim of using only ripe, quality fruit, the time we have available for processing is limited to the months of September, October and November.

So it's all hands on deck during that time to ensure that we process enough stock to supply our customers throughout the year.

Drying Room Here we have a brief glimpse into one of our drying rooms.
These dryer's run "flat out" for about 3 months of the year when the Mango season is on, and on an as-needed basis when other fruit is in season, eg: Bananas, Dragonfruit, Pineapples and Paw Paws.
